With a strong focus on quality and sustainability, Nine One Coffee sources its beans directly from its own organic coffee farm in Doi Saket, Chiang Mai. Established in 2003, it was one of the first coffee shops in Thailand to grow, process, and brew coffee using its own beans, setting a high standard for local coffee culture.

Nine One Coffee is a small, cosy coffee shop that combines simplicity with charm. The interior blends rustic and modern design elements, featuring natural wood to create a warm, inviting atmosphere reminiscent of a mountain cafe. Large windows on all sides allow natural light to flood the space, enhancing its airy, welcoming feel.
Indoor seating options include stylish padded wooden swivel bar stools at the window counters and cushioned vintage wooden chairs around a low, intimate table in a cosy corner. Outdoors, seating is more eclectic. The front terrace offers street views, while the back opens onto a quiet restaurant courtyard. In between, a small, covered alleyway adorned with vibrant graffiti adds extra seating and serves as an entrance to the courtyard.
Coffee, Art, and Science at Nine One Coffee
The highlight of Nine One Coffee is undoubtedly its coffee menu. The slow bar offers a wide array of brewing methods—Drip, Syphon, Aeropress, French Press, Aram, and Cold Brew—transforming the counter into a scene straight out of a scientist’s lab, with its assortment of coffee-making apparatus.
A variety of beans and roast strengths are available, with sample jars to let you savour the aroma before making your choice. The knowledgeable baristas are always ready to offer recommendations and educate customers on different beans and brewing techniques, enriching the experience.
Each cup is meticulously crafted by passionate baristas; watching them prepare slow-method coffee is mesmerising. Every brew is accompanied by a glass of water and a card detailing tasting notes and production information for your chosen beans.
In addition to the slow brews, Nine One Coffee offers a variety of espresso-based drinks, as well as non-coffee options like cocoa, Thai milk tea, matcha lattes, and refreshing Italian sodas.
When it comes to food, the cafe serves a small but thoughtful selection of light bites, including artisan sourdough bread, banana honey waffles, and pan-fried eggs.
